Between 1 and 20 September 2021, the Danish photographic artist stayed in Halland, with Varberg as his base. The hosts for this residency were Art in Halland and the Artists’ Collective Workshop (KKV) in Varberg, in partnership with Varberg Town.
Christel focuses her pieces on topics such as memory, identity, and mythology, mixed with contemporary social and political matters. She mixes traditional photography with alternative and abstract photographic processes and techniques. During her stay in Halland, she explored cultural heritage sites and developed further ideas for the forthcoming travelling exhibition TOMRUM, scheduled for display in Broby, Faaborg-Midtfyns municipality, in mid-2022.
